Summer Pattern

We have finally fully hit the summer pattern for fishing in Voyageurs National Park! Walleye on Kabetogama and Namakan can be found all over mid lake structure and island points ranging from 20-35ft. Kab and Namakan the best depth has been 20-25ft. Live bait rigs with leech have been best on Kab while minnow and leech have been good on Namakan. Look for schools of fish, not just singles, on a given hump for best results.

*Another tip I tell everyone is that even though its mid summer don't be afraid to try shallow weed edges with wind and cloudy days or multiple days with same strong wind direction.

Bass are now starting to be caught more frequently with my walleye so that means they have dropped out a bit deeper and the plastics bite might be the way to go for them right now. 10-20ft rocky points.

Big pike are hard to find right now because they have retreated to deeper water as well. Try trolling deeper crank baits over the same humps you would fish walleye to find the big hogs.
